Hi, I’m Lauren. After struggling with various academic and mental health pressures, I enrolled in the Alta-1 Program. Since coming to the school my level of hope and gratitude for life as a whole has radically changed. I am so grateful for the support of the amazing community and now have the education I needed to move forward with hope for the future
Hi, my name is Aaliyah and I’m 16 years old. Life, before I came to Alta-1 at school, was not good. I was getting suspended, and I would always argue with the teachers, and I felt like no one at the schools I went to really cared about me and my education. My mum began looking for an alternative school to go to online and she came across Alta-1.
As a result of joining the college, I found the motivation to get up and get ready every day. For the first time in a long time, I saw myself graduating. I don’t think I would be where I am today without what Alta-1 has given me – they’ve given me the tools to reach my goals. Not a day goes by without me coming out of the classroom a better person than I was the day before.
Hi, my name is Nick. I joined Alta-1 after experiencing bullying which really set me on a dark path of anti-social behaviour and substance abuse. Since coming to Alta-1 College my life started to turn around. The Teachers and staff provided me with the academic support and tools I needed to confront past hurts, build my self-confidence, and believe in a brighter future.
Hi, I am Hayley, and before I came to Alta-1 I was picked on a lot in school. I have been to nine different schools and never really felt like I fit in anywhere. I developed anxiety, I’ve been self-conscious about myself, and decided to come to Alta-1 – and I feel much better here, like, getting grades up, I am doing so well, and just a little bit more work and then I’ll complete Year 11.
